Konnichiwa!!!
I am so completely drained and very tyode (tired.) BUT. i have to jot down today. Its something to never forget.
Today was the Youth Exchange Programme - Japan, Taiwan, Singapore. Had so much fun. The japs were very very very very very nice. So super enthu over everything. haha. 7am - Arrive in school Arrived to see 2 jap students already dere. Its super obvious, cuz no one wears such thick jackets with a million badges pinned on in sunny singapore. So went over and talked to them. Met the two japs' host, Justin, from Ngee Ann Poly. Den the two japs were really kawaii! One is Akane(aka-neh), one is Haruka. Akane looks like Hilary Duff. Total lookalike. Haruka is shorter, smaller, but also as adorable. We chatted for a while before almost everyone else arrived. This girl waved at me and gave me a very cheery smile. So i walked over and talk to her. Her name is Yui (You-Ee) and she is so nice~~~Stuck with her most of the time throughout the day, went shopping together, fed the fishes together, chit-chatted alot etc. she's so nice and sweet. haha. 8am - Concert Starting to find communication a rather troublesome problem. Had to resort to hand sign alot of times. They speak and understand minimal english (meaning when i speak, they don understand. When they speak, i don understand.) and my jap is like... i noe less than 10 sentences lor. Only those "Hello", "Thank you", "Good morning", "Goodbye", "cute", "Haven't decided", "where", "Watashi wa Joyce des" Which everyone knows. Plus all those "Hai!" haha. so crap. Somemore Kee Liang went to learn jap just for this ocassion. And everyone else seem to know alot of jap. at least, so much more than me la. Than we watched the national day concert.Yui fell asleep watching it, hahaha... the C.O part.(no offence to CO members) Then we had mass dance, which i dunno. Than the jap students joined in and oh my, they can dance better than the whole board put together lor. ooOps. 11am - Lunch time Had fun eating with the exchange students. But it was hard remembering all their names. 14 jap names can kill. argh. worse part, they all remember my name, "joy-ce ne." Spent the rest of the day remembering all 14 names and put them to the right faces. no joke. 2pm - IMM shopping mall I don understand why the student were brought to IMM. I mean, IMM has nothing. No clothes, no trendy acessories the jap likes, don even have souveniers or wadeva. It has furnitutre only lor. and Giant. and some hypermart. geez. Din noe how to explain to Yui, Asami and Hiromi. Just told them "Donch haf here." Then Yui wanted ice cream, so we bought these BIG cone ice creams and i tried the turkish ice cream. haha. quite ok la. After that we went to walk walk, before realising there is nothing to walk. We went down to Burger King, which they tell us they don haf in japan? At least Nagasaki doesn. They were totally fascinated and so happy when George said he treating them. The cashiers were so happy seeing these japs they gave us a free large coke. hahah. so we shared. Then rushed to take a neoprint. Cuz the 3 of them say they always take, and muz take. haha. so cute. I saw Yui's neoprint book. gosh. its as thick as 2 of my shou jis. every page filled with small neoprint stickers. wow. i tink she can open a neoprint building le. 3:30pm - Fish farm Haha... i tot fish farm would be boring. but it was so funny and interesting. The host families bought alot of fish food and everyone was feeding the koi in the pond. The kois are all over-enthu. They jump and rush to just one pathetic morsel of food. haha. later we held the fish food in our hand and close our hand tight. Put our hands inside the pond, so the koi would smell the food and rush to "kiss" our hands. hahah. so funny. but so fun. Than Yui and Asami went to play the swings, and Chiemi, Hiromi went to play the see-saw. Was laughing with them when i noticed the huge sign "For children only". OOOps. nvm. afterall they don understand the sign. ya~y! continue playing. 5pm - OrchidVille Went to see orchids. Took alot of photos and the jap girls all put orchids in their hair. SO pretty. so cute. Then we all sat down and chit chat etc. 6pm - Siglap South CC Went there for a talk and dinner. The speaker could only speak english. So one other person had to translate into chinese for the Taiwanese, while another has to translate into jap. So basically whatever they were saying, u hear it 3 times, in diff languages. haha. Dinner was good. But i din really eat cuz going out with mom and dad and tim for dinner. Sat with Akane and Mina and talk to them while they eat. When we announced that we were leaving, they all came and took photos with us. All gave us such warm hugs its almost enought to bring tears to your eyes. Then they gave me their name cards, and we promised to keep in touch through e-mail. And by that last farewell, i am quite sure i remember all their names. Yui Asami Nozomi Haruka Hiromi Chiemi Mina Akane Kazuko So Ryuji Kanako Hikari Yoko see? i rememer. Before we left, we went back to the bbq pit where they were having bbq, and said this zoto... dunno wad sentence to them. It means "Never will forget". Everyone came forward to hug us again and i told Yui i will send her the photos through e-mail. And Akane. Mina. Yoko too. The japs are so cute. I miss them already. Hope they enjoy the rest of their short stay in Singapore. U noe they keep saying thank you. I think cuz in jap they always use the 不好意思, i tink they somehow tink Thank you has the same use. haha. So they say sank you (thank you)sank you super loud all the time. I seriously mean all the time. Haha. Dats why at alot of instances u see me and them trying to communicate=鸡跟鸭讲话. Den i will start my hand signs. "Fishoo farme." then do fish swimming.... hahaha. hahahaha. And oh ya, the jap girls really know how to dress, all very cool, trendy and cute. Also quite good looking, i can picture some of them being drawn as anime. can fit eh. hahha.... It's been really fun. really memorable. though cant deny it IS super tiring. sigh. wont be seeing them again. unless i go Japan. Nagasaki, Osaka, Kagoshima and all their hometowns one by one. haha... Tsukaremashita(I'm tired) Sayonara! Konbanwa.(Goodnite) =) (Haha. until now still cant get out of that Japanese accented english. roar!) Joyce at 10:52 PM
